The Ensemble, founded in 2001 by Sabina Colonna-Preti as a viola da gamba consort, takes a different and enriched form from the encounter with Eduardo Eg\u00fcez: preserving the original sound characteristics of the violas, La Chimera becomes a versatile ensemble composed of internationally renowned artists.\u00a0<\/p>

The group’s activity focuses on the creation of original projects<\/strong> where the different art forms and cultures brought by the members of the group converge (they come from Argentina, Venezuela, France, Senegal, Italy, Sweden, Cuba, Norway…). This is how, as well as projects entirely dedicated to early music<\/b> (La voce di Orfeo<\/i> with Furio Zanasi, Las Cartas del Conde de Villamediana<\/i> with C\u00e9line Scheen, La P\u00farpura de la Rosa<\/i>,\u00a0Dowland’s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Lachrimae<\/i>\u00a0, Ay Fortuna Cruel<\/i> with Barbara Kusa, Intermedi della Pellegrina<\/i>), the ensemble has created “early-fusion” projects<\/b>: merging ancient and modern music, mainly folkloric; that’s how \u00a0Buenos Aires Madrigal<\/i>, Tonos y Tonadas<\/i>, Odisea Negra<\/i>, Misa de Indios<\/i>, Nordlys, Gracias a la vida, Fuga y Misterio\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0and Paran\u00e0<\/i> were born.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Since its foundation the Ensemble has performed in some of the most important venues and festivals in Europe and America (Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de la Ville in Paris, Concertgebouw in Bruges, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao, Arsenal de Metz, “Casa de las Am\u00e9ricas” in New York, Villa i Tatti in Florence, Teatro Bouffes du Nord in Paris, Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, . …), and has recorded albums with various labels, including Na\u00efve<\/i>, MA recordings<\/i> and La M\u00fasica.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Born in Buenos Aires, Eduardo Eg\u00fcez holds a privileged position in the international lute scene.<\/p>

Mr. Eg\u00fcez has given many solo concerts and masterclasses in the main cities of South and North America, Europe, Australia and Japan, being well received by critics worldwide and highly appreciated by the public.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As a soloist he has recorded \u201cTombeau\u201d (works by S.L. Weiss), the complete lute works by J.S. Bach, \u201cLe Ma\u00eetre du Roi\u201d (Robert de Vis\u00e9e) and \u201cL\u2019Infid\u00e8le\u201d (S. L. Weiss).<\/p>

He is founding member and artistic director of the \u201cEnsemble La Chimera\u201d, a group featuring musical fusions across early and modern times. Many of his arrangements and compositions were performed and recorded in all La Chimera\u2019s projects, such as \u201cBuenos Aires Madrigal\u201d, \u201cTonos y Tonadas\u201d, \u201cLa Voce di Orfeo\u201d, \u201cOdisea Negra\u201d, \u201cMisa de Indios\u201d, \u201cAy Fortuna Cruel\u201d, \u201cGracias a la Vida\u201d\u2026<\/p>

Eduardo Eg\u00fcez has conducted \u201cLa P\u00farpura de la Rosa\u201d (Torrej\u00f3n y Velazco) at the \u201cPotsdamer Festspiele\u201d, \u201cL\u2019Orfeo\u201d (Monteverdi) in Santiago and Rancagua, Chile and \u201cGli Intermezzi della Pellegrina\u201d at the \u201cInnsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik\u201d.<\/a><\/p>
